June of 2016. The Chineese supercomputer Sunway TaihuLight became a Top-500 leader. The Sunway TaihuLight System was developed by the National Research Center of Parallel Computer Engineering & Technology (NRCPC). The system is in full operation and installed in Wuxi, in China.

Sunway TaihuLight is based on 64bit locally developed architecture. SW26010 chip has 260 cores working at 1.45 ГГц.
