The developed architecture is named ‘MALT’

We’ve been thinking long and hard over what name to give our architecture. Eventually, after long deliberation, we’ve decided to name it ‘MALT’ - Manycore Architecture with Lightweight Threads. That name should precisely outline the concept of the project. On the one hand, the name reflects Peter Kogge’s ideas about light-weight threads which once inspired us. On the other hand, the concept ‘manycore’, meaning the systems with a great amount of processing cores (dozens to hundreds or thousands) is in contrary to ‘multicore’ concept, usually applied to CPU which accumulates several (up to dozens) general-purpose cores on a chip.
